Promoting just transition to sustainable development for SMEs

On May 23, 2024 at the Park Hotel in Bishkek, a round table was held on the completion of the International Labor Organization (ILO) project "Promoting a Just Transition to an Environmentally Sustainable Economy" and activities under the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) in Kyrgyzstan.

The event was opened by JIA Executive Director Azzambek Jeenbai uulu.

The project successfully implemented the ILO flagship program "Sustainable Development of Competitive and Responsible Enterprises" (SCORE) and its training module "SCORE4Climate". Ten trainers were trained and certified in this module, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to independently implement and deliver ILO curriculum trainings in enterprises as part of a just transition to a green economy. In addition, they were included in a global database of trainers.

Small and medium-sized enterprises participating in the project received hands-on training and expert advice on production issues, thus enhancing their knowledge on productivity improvement and environmental sustainability.

The JIA Business Association aims to introduce this tool as one of the training courses through its Academy and Entrepreneurship Support Centers, as well as providing services under the ILO's flagship SCORE program.
